Hiriketiya Bay is unique in shape and topography, giving you the ideal surfing condition approximately ten months of the year. During peak holiday seasons from December to February, smaller swells from the west create a perfect beginners beach break wave and the occasional ride on the left point break. During shoulder season (August to Decemer) the waves are at their best after a slight drop in midyear swell size creating a clean beach and left point break. During the middle of the year (when there are fewer crowds), larger southerly swells create some fun yet challenging waves right across the bay.
